Gerber Diesel Multi-Plier
The purpose of a multi-tool is to always have a few necessary tools with you when some sort of shit goes down. Many multi-tools are slick and pretty but have no real tools attached to them, making them useless hunks of metal. The Diesel Multi-Plier is not one of them. The included 14 tools are easy to use due to Gerber’s wrist-flick deployment, and each tool seems to be larger and more rugged than most, meaning you can use them with reasonable force. Each one of the tools locks independently too, making this a lot nicer than many other brand’s multi-tools, which pretty much act as finger guillotines. I really like the fact that the Diesel has a semi-serrated tanto blade, which makes it a very versatile tool just by itself. And this thing has real, workable scissors that can cut more than paper. Wow, what a novel idea. Lastly, the whole apparatus is covered in a tough black finish that cleans up well with just water, and the Diesel even comes with a sheath making it a true carryall.
After fooling with this fine tool for a few months now I can say that if you are in the market for a manly multi-tool with tools that actually work and a ton of other real-deal features, this is one to consider.
