Hellride Apparel’s kevlar shirt is better armored than some riding jackets.

Want some riding protection without leathering up? You should take a gander at the Hellride CE Armored Dupont Kevlar Lined Check Riding Shirt. This made-in-New-Zealand shirt is much more than meets the eye. This button-up might look like your favorite flannel, but it is reinforced using 100-percent undiluted Dupont Kevlar and outfitted with CE-approved armor. Yes, this shirt has more safety packed into it than most of my leather jackets, but I still found it to be lightweight, breathable, and very comfortable—even in the heat and humidity of Vietnam. It comes in a myriad of limited-edition colors in sizes from small to 3XL. I have been riding in the shirt for a few months now and think it’s a great garment for folks who want protection without leathering up.
