The Snowball Effect – A Custom 2008 Harley-Davidson Road King
Trying to build a custom bike is a lot like finding the perfect mate. Sometimes you have to date around a bit to see what you like and don’t like. Often what you want is what you least expected. Sure, dating a celebrity sounds like a great idea—that is until you realize there’s a crazy lady behind all the glitz and glamour. In the same fashion, how do you know you want gigantic apehangers or a wide-open exhaust until you try them on for size and set off cruising down the road?
Mike Ninowski first brought his 2008 Road King to IMZZ Elite with a short but sweet list of to-dos.

IMZZ has been in business since 1996
IMZZ has been in business since 1996 and has been creating some of the most-talked-about, published, and craziest custom cars, trucks, and bikes since its opening. Whether it’s two wheels or four, there isn’t much this shop hasn’t cut, molded, painted, or built over the past 18 years.
What started off a simple project included a set of bars, bags, and stereo. IMZZ added its own unique bag lids that encompass four speakers total all controlled by a single Bluetooth-connected knob to Rockford Fosgate amps. After returning the bike back to Mike for inspection, the list of things he wanted grew a little bit longer.
Next on the list of mods was a clean and classy paint job. Nothing speaks style like a tuxedo, so the black-and-white scheme was dropped in a traditional fashion. Again the bike was returned to Mike for final inspection. After a few hems and haws, it was sent back this time for the addition of some graphics. By this time a trust had been developed, and IMZZ was given free rein on the graphics. This back and forth continued a few more times resulting in a slew of Arlen Ness goodies like grips, mirrors, floorboards, foot controls, and more.
At the time of the shoot, the bike was finally completed and ready for final pickup. After a long, hard look, Mike gave the final thumbs-up.

After a long, hard look, Mike gave the final thumbs-up.
Following a quick rip around the corner, he returned with an ear-to-ear grin and then asked to add some more motor mods. Ha! Sometimes enough is never enough. Looks like Mike found the looks of the supermodel he was after; now he just needs to find the soul to back her up. HB
