What the hell is the FXR Tour, you ask? It’s the culmination of guys growing tired of entering the same old bike shows where everyone wins an award and sits around for a few hours, bored out of their minds, until the show is over. Sounds pretty exciting, right? Wrong. The FXR Tour revolves around two things: Building a cool custom bike, and riding said cool custom bike with your friends in the good old US of A.

In the world of custom motorcycles, the FXR Tour was created by two passionate motorcycle dudes, Jace Hudson from the Fast Life Garage/Podcast and Justin Page from MyMachinist. The two wanted to do something unique for an event that paid homage to the Biker Build-Off days and the Hot Bike Tour and Hot Bike Build-Off days. Something that would bring together a diverse group of builders with a shared passion for two-wheeled artistry.

Jace and Justin met in Oklahoma five years ago. After that initial encounter the two just hit it off and got to talking about events in the custom motorcycle industry and how they wanted to bring something to the table that would be different yet familiar. The pair started to brainstorm ideas and eventually they laid the foundation for what would become an exciting journey for a select group of FXR frame custom builders, known as the FXR Tour.

The Genesis of the FXR Tour

With the allure of a friendly rivalry and a nostalgic nod to the biker build-offs of yesteryear, Jace and Justin set out to make their vision a reality. But then their vision expanded, and they decided to invite other builders to join the journey.

The call went out, but it wasn’t just any call; it was a call to those who possessed an FXR frame and a desire to craft a bike that they’d want to build and ride on this event. The response was overwhelming, so to keep things somewhat manageable for a first-year event, they capped the FXR Tour official participants at 10 builders. Each builder was given the creative freedom to let their imagination run wild, resulting in a diverse array of FXR creations.

Here’s a list of the inaugural FXR Tour’s 10 builders that we’ve been following on Instagram since the FXR Tour became a thing. We’re looking forward to seeing these bikes in person at the Born-Free Texas show on October 19-22 2023.

Did we mention that the FXR Tour garnered so much attention that industry friends with FXR projects decided this event was exactly the kick in the balls they needed to finish their bikes? Well, it was. And these guys finished their builds too, and rode to Durango to meet up with the builders and crew and hit the road alongside them for the fun of it.

The FXR Tour: More than a Competition

The FXR Tour is not a competition; it’s a celebration of creativity, passion, and the unity of the custom motorcycle community. The builders are not in it for trophies or accolades; instead, they aim to rekindle the true spirit of motorcycling by celebrating the journey of building a custom motorcycle and then riding it with a group of like-minded folks across the country. This is not your average bike show in a parking lot. It’s about the journey, the stories, and the shared love for custom motorcycles.

The FXR Tour: A Journey Worth Following

The FXR Tour officially hit the road today where 10 official FXR Tour builders (and plenty of others who have been following the build progress on Instagram) have set out toward Born-Free Texas, taking a 3-day 1,000-mile journey to their final destination at Yellow Rose Canyon in Texas for Born-Free Texas. The route will take them from Durango to Amarillo, then on to Strokers in Dallas, and ultimately to Born Free Texas to be displayed. The daily updates and the camaraderie among the builders promise an unforgettable experience.

While not everyone can join the tour physically, the FXR Tour is a testament to the enduring spirit of the custom motorcycle community. It’s a celebration of individuality, craftsmanship, and a love for the open road. As the journey unfolds, we can only hope to catch a glimpse of these builders and their extraordinary creations. The FXR Tour is more than a ride; it’s an embodiment of freedom, passion, and the timeless allure of custom motorcycles.
