Here’s the scenario: You’re heading out on a trip, and you need a way to carry your things.

You could stuff a few items in a backpack, but what if you need more room? What if you’re out for more than one day and need major storage? Or what if you just need a little more storage than what you can carry on your back?

Kryakyn has the answer. The company has designed a line of travel packs that range from small roll bags that mount onto your handlebars and are good for an overnight trip all the way up to the Ultra Tour Bag.

All of Kryakyn’s bags feature semi-rigid construction and are made of 1,200-denier fabric for durability. They also have waterproof zippers and come with rain covers. We wanted to check out a few of the new bags before we headed out for the ever-busy riding season.

First, we started out with the Custom Roll Bag (MSRP: $109.99). The bag is 19 inches long and 8 inches in diameter. It does, however, lengthen to 23 inches by utilizing the expandable sides. This is a great bag for an overnighter, with room for a clean set of clothes and all your personal items.

It has zippered ends and a large center hatch to allow access to the main compartment from all sides. The Custom Roll Bag was made to mount to your handlebars with fully universal mounting straps for endless mounting options. You could also mount it to the backrest if necessary.

Next, there is the GranTour Bag (MSRP: $169.99), which also has multiple mounting options. It measures 18 inches tall, 14 inches deep, and 20 inches wide. This bag will sit on the sissy bar or luggage rack (the passenger seat will also work in a pinch). This bag is great for an overnighter but also big enough for a short trip. It has a large center pocket along with smaller side pockets for quick access to things such as cameras and so on.

If you need major storage, then the Ultra Tour Bag (MSRP: $129.99) is what you’re looking for. Measuring 17 inches tall, 16 inches wide, and 15 inches deep, the bag can expand up to 20 inches wide. As with all the other bags, the Ultra features sealed zippered ends, 1,200-denier construction, and a wide hook-and-loop belt to securely attach the bag to any backrest.

The Ultra bag has a large main hatch to allow access to the entire bag. The bag comes with a shoulder strap and two other adjustable universal straps that can be used to convert it to a backpack when it’s off the bike. The Ultra is ideal for long trips, or for two people on a short trip.
