Hot Bike’s Speed and Style Build-Off heads out to the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee for a H-D 120 Motor hand off
In the third of six transactions Jeff G. Holt, editor in chief of Hot Bike magazine flew out to Maryville, Tennessee, to meet up with Matt Harris of 40 Cal Customs at the amazing Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson.
Jeff was there to hand over a brand-new Harley-Davidson 120R Twin Cam motor and Six-Speed transmission donated by the folks from Harley-Davidson’s HQ in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Matt will be using as the basis of his ground-up custom Hot Bike Speed & Style bike build.
“I picked the 120R engine to power my build due to its massive power, good looks, and reliability”. Stated Matt reading his choice. “I am very interested to see what Matt will build. He has a keen eye and the style of bikes he builds should go well with the big-inch Twin Cam motor he chose.” Said Jeff G. Holt.
Now, Hot Bike is off to three more cities and three more Harley-Davidson dealerships to meet up with other Speed and Style builders; Jasin Phares, Andy Carter, and Pat Patterson. We will be bringing you up-to–the-minute action of each of these builder’s and their two-wheeled custom creations as time progresses.
About the Speed and Style Build-Off
The Hot Bike Speed & Style event is a build-off that is powered by Harley-Davidson in conjunction with the Born-Free motorcycle show. Combining both contemporary style with refined performance the six builders and their bikes will be completed and judged upon at the Born-Free motorcycle show, the Sturgis 75th anniversary Black Hills Rally, and all five days of the Hot Bike Tour, with the winner being crowned as the ultimate master of both show and go.
