Chip Kastelnik of San Diego Customs | Hot Seat
We sat down with Chip Kastelnik, owner of San Diego Customs to get the details on his shop, his philosophy about the industry and everything else in between.
**Describe yourself in three words?
** Hard working motherf-er.
**Three things you love?
** America, motorcycles, life.
**Three things you hate?
** Everything, anything, nothing.
**Why the motorcycle industry?
** I enjoy the headaches, problems, and people.
**What is the future of the motorcycle industry?
** Hopefully it will continue to grow and keep producing new, innovative individuals that will take bikes to the next level.
**What is your greatest achievement?
** Living until today.
**What is your biggest regret?
** Regrets hold you back and mess with your head. If you are going to regret something, don’t do it. If a situation gets shitty, remove yourself from it. The term “no regrets” truly stands alone.
**Who inspires you?
** Creative, self-motivated people who push the limits of whatever they do. People who don’t allow themselves to be held back anyone or anything ever. People who can persevere thru the good and bad and still laugh.
**What was your first bike?
** 1988 Sportster.
**What is your all-time Favorite bike?
** That black one with two wheels that goes plup plup plup vrooooooom.
**What are you currently building?
** 2003 FXDX rework and a 1992 FXR Warbird.
**Any last words?
** If you aren’t first, you’re last. And always pack a towel.
