King of the Baggers Road America Recap

It was an exciting race weekend at Elkhart Lake’s Road America as Sac Mile/SDI Racing/Roland Sands/Indian’s Bobby Fong took First place in the Mission King Of The Baggers race on Sunday. Fong not only defeated the rest of the competition, but did so by a 5.7-second lead.
Prior to the race beginning, Fong’s protective airbag suit deployed underneath his leathers after the warm-up lap. Fong ended up starting the race with a fully deployed airbag, which didn’t seem to affect his performance. In fact, maybe that’s what contributed to the monster lead on the victory lap?
James Rispoli, Kyle Wyman, Hayden Gillim and Jeremy McWilliams were battling it out for the two remaining podium spots. Vance & Hines / Mission Harley-Davidson rider, Rispoli, took Second place by besting Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle’s Kyle Wyman by just .010-second. Wyman rounded out the weekend with Third place finish in this race, and a First place finish in Race number one. Hayden Gillim was right behind in fourth and H-D Screamin’ Eagle’s other factory rider, Travis Wyman, took fifth. McWilliams, meanwhile, crashed out of the race on the last lap two turns from the finish.
