Safety First
I don’t normally get on my rickety, old, clapped-out soapbox and preach about safety, but the common sense most of us possess dictates that we take steps to ensure when we throw a leg over our sweet machines that we make it back to the garage with minimal incidents. Sure, things like mandatory motorcycle insurance and helmet laws dictate that we have some sort of level of safety every time we ride. This is all well and good (well, not really), but the level of preventative protection I am speaking of has to do with whether you throw a chain and it ends up wrapped around your leg, you get a laceration or contusion, or come across someone who is in need of medical attention. Here are two kits that can aid you when you need it most.
Gerber Bear Grylls Basic Kit
This Bear Grylls Basic Kit from Gerber is a very compact kit and can be worn in a jacket or vest pocket. Mr. Grylls has included some basics, such as waterproof matches, a fire starter, baling wire, emergency whistle, a semi-serrated Mini-Paraframe knife, and it even has a survival essentials guide written by Bear himself.
