WindVest’s Dyna Wide Glide 14×14-inch Windscreen

Desperate for some wind protection on a 2007 Dyna Wide Glide and we installed the WindVest Smoke Windscreen for 2006–2009 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide.
Built from high-impact GE Plexiglas acrylic with billet aluminum hardware, the WindVest windshield is designed to smooth airflow up and over you, reducing fatigue and buffeting while blending perfectly with the Wide Glide’s raw custom lines. This screen’s aerodynamic design was engineered to redirect airflow 3-4 inches higher than their height would suggest, helping you ride taller in the wind column without the bulk of a traditional windshield.
We chose the 14×14-inch Dark Smoke option with chrome hardware (also available with black hardware) and installed the new bug protector in a matter of minutes.
Tools:
- 3/16″ Allen wrench (included with kit)
- Torque wrench (optional but recommended)
- Microfiber or fender cover
- Clean shop rag
NOTE: Protect your gas tank and paint with a towel or fender cover before loosening anything so dropped tools or fasteners won’t scuff your bike.

We parked the bike on level ground and secured it in place. The WindVest for Wide Glide uses handlebar-mounted clamps that attach directly to your stock 1.25″ bars. Simply slide the billet clamps over each side of the bar at both sides of the riser clamp and ensure they are even so the center post sits straight.

Then we moved onto the crossbar and windscreen assembly. We started by setting the crossbar in place. Then inserted the hardware up through the clamps and into the underside of the screen assembly hardware. We left the fasteners finger-tight because he still need to align and adjust if needed before torquing everything down.

WindVest’s design lets you “dial in” height and angle before final tightening (about 1-inch of play). Before torquing, we sat on the bike and eyeballed the screen’s angle — after a couple tweaks it was perfectly in line with the forks. With simple hardware and a perfect fit for stock bars, this Windscreen is one of the most effective bolt-ons for long hauls and weekend blasts alike.
