2007 Daytona Bike Week: The Loop
If Main and Beach are too hectic for you, and you’re not in the mood for racing, there’s always The Loop. It’s a 22-mile route through Florida’s open country and a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of Bike Week traffic for some honest-to-goodness cruising.
It starts at the foot of Granada Bridge on John Anderson Dr. in nearby Ormond Beach. Heading north, it takes you into tree country, where you’ll take a left on Highbridge Rd., (heading west) over said bridge and the Intracoastal Waterway. Along the way there’ll be plenty of places to stop, kick back, and enjoy some scenery.
Keep going, and you’ll hit Walter Boardman Rd., where another turn takes you farther west to Old Dixie Hwy., where you’ll hang a left to go south back toward Ormond Beach. For maps of The Loop, log on to www.officialbikeweek.com.
