Why the motorcycle industry?
Riding has been in my blood since I was eight, and after a life in customizing cars, I started producing parts for myself for my Road King. As others started asking where they could buy them from, I started Dragonfly Cycle Concepts.
What do you see in the industry’s crystal ball?
A slow turn-around to someday being close to the iconic year of 2008; however, with a more streamlined set of business structures of the survivors, providing an established, higher level of customer service and product quality.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
Staying true to myself and those around me. Never having a reputation for being a liar, thief, or a cheat.
Favorite all-time motorcycle?
The 2000 Road King that I rode everywhere that gave me the inspiration to start Dragonfly.
Who inspires you?
My Uncle Dan, he had an almost perfect, positive attitude about life, and always wore a smile, and always handed out compliments. And he could build Anything!
What’s your biggest regret?
Working my life away and not having as much free time with my family.
What is your proudest moment?
Being copied by no less than 10 nationwide companies, and becoming good friends with my closest competitor, John Hoppe!
Favorite place on Earth?
Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Great food, people, and some of the best Mexican coffee, filet mignon, and wines I have ever experienced.
Biggest pet peeve?
Ignorance, liars, laziness, and warm beer!
What are you currently working on?
Taking high-end audio products out to the desert for sand rails, side by sides, and the entire UTV market. Oh, and taking some time this winter for my family!
