Captain Kirk’s next adventure isn’t exactly “where no man has gone before.” William Shatner is getting his next kicks on Route 66 at the helm of American Wrench’s[ Rivet three-wheeler.](http://www.rivetmotors.com/what-is-rivet/)
Inspired by the B-17 bomber, Rivet runs a V-8 motor in an aluminum body. The unique trike makes a claimed 500 horsepower.
“I am taking another step into the unknown!” Shatner stated. His cross-country voyage kicks off at American Wrench’s shop in Chicago on June 23rd for an eight-day trek to Los Angeles. He’ll stop at various cities along the way, with a TV crew documenting the trip for television show to be aired down the line.
The Priceline Negotiator won’t be going alone, though. Members of The American Legion Riders are escorting him to Legion meetings in St. Louis, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, and Las Vegas. The idea is to raise public awareness of the Legion’s work for American veterans.
