1978 Harley Shovelhead | Mr. Rising’s Mojo
I’ve known Josh Rising going on about five years now, and over those five years we have become pretty close. I’m glad to say he’s not just a great friend but also a brother. Josh and I have laid down a lot of miles together in the past four years on our old Shovels. Over that time, I’ve learned that one thing is for certain when it comes to Josh: He can ride the wheels off of anything you put him on. You never know if Josh will fly past you surfing his Shovel or just ride sidesaddle for miles on end.
Here’s how Josh tells it when it comes to his Shovel: “This bike started out as a 1978 Shovelhead Wide Glide. It was originally a club bike that had a shit-ton of miles on it. At some point in time Big Will from The Butcher Chop picked this Shovel up. Since that day this bike has pretty much been the shop’s whore; she’s been passed around a few times, to say the least. When I say passed around, almost everyone from The Butcher Chop has owned this ol’ girl, and she’s been changed every time to the way the new owner liked her or wanted her to look. Rhett Holley had the bike before me, and that’s how it got transformed into what it is today. I’ve had this bike for four years now; she’s a two-kick bike and super reliable. She handles amazingly and is one of the smoothest-riding shovels I’ve ever been on. I’ve put thousands of miles on this machine, and it always turns heads and gets a lot of attention. I’d guess the reason for that is she’s super-clean, nothing fancy. Just a simple bike. I’d like to thank Rhett, Big Will, Jason, and the rest of The Butcher Chop shop boys, all the big-booty hoes, and my brother Billy Childress for always making me look pretty. Love all my Death Science Family too.”
