GEICO Hot Bike Tour Builder Spotlight on Oscar Peralta
Harley-Davidson Queratero’s Oscar Peralta is one of the 14 great craftsmen we invited to conjure up cool iron hogs for the 2016 GEICO Hot Bike Tour. Time draws shorter than Yosemite Sam’s temper and he was kind enough to answer a few questions ahead of our five-day mega-ride.
Why’d you agree to be a builder for the Tour?
For the challenge it represents both creatively and in terms of innovation as well. The invitation was also a chance to represent our brand showing what we are passionate about and what we do best.
Describe your Tour bike in one word.
Hodgepodge
How would you describe your building style?
Cafe Bagger, unique, High Performance
What do you like most about the Tour?
The fact that we ride our builds with other riders and enthusiasts, it is easy to build a bike for show, it takes a lot more to create something that rides as good as it looks. 5 great venues and new friends at each stop.
How did you get started building motorcycles?
I have always been passionate about bikes, I almost started riding before walking! I started building motorcycles when I saw the need to make them look and perform better. I have it in my blood!
With the Tour running through the South and the South being the birthplace of barbecue, which do you prefer: ribs, brisket, or pulled pork?
Brisket! Especially when it comes along with a nice cold one!
