Harley-Davidson’s Hydra-Glide Revival Quick Ride
Harley-Davidson’s latest Icons Collection model, the Hydra-Glide Revival, is a cool way to step back in time to the golden age of American motorcycling with a true OG, the Harley-Davidson Hydra-Glide. Born out of the post-war boom of the 1950s, the Hydra Glide revolutionized the riding experience with its advanced telescopic frontend and bold color schemes. Now, 75 years later, Harley felt it was time to pay a well-deserved homage to the legendary Hydra Glide with a limited production run of the Hydra-Glide Revival motorcycle. We were lucky enough to spend a full day riding the retro-mod cruiser during Daytona Bike Week and it left a lasting impression that left us grinning for days.
With wartime utilitarianism fading into memory, Harley-Davidson introduced the now-iconicHydra-Glide in the ’50s, which was the result of its new frontend paired with the powerful 74-cubic-inch Panhead engine. This combination not only elevated the performance and comfort of Harley motorcycles but also injected new energy into the brand with refreshing color schemes. Among the most beloved models was the 1956 FLH, distinguished by its striking red base color adorned with a white stripe, famously known as the “slash” two-tone color scheme.
