Indian Motorcycle x Vance & Hines’ Troy Herfoss Wins Race 2 King of the Baggers at Daytona

The 2026 MotoAmerica Mission King of the Baggers championship continued its thrilling Daytona Bike Week debut weekend with a commanding performance from the Indian Motorcycle x Vance & Hines factory team, as Troy Herfoss claimed victory in Race 2 at Daytona International Speedway.
Riding the Motul USA / J&P Cycles–backed Indian Challenger, Herfoss delivered a controlled and calculated race around Daytona’s 3.51-mile road course, securing his first win of the 2026 season and reinforcing Indian’s early dominance in the championship opener.
The victory also capped a strong weekend for the newly formed Indian Motorcycle x Vance & Hines effort, which has quickly established itself as a serious championship contender.
Herfoss showed strong pace from the start of Race 2, positioning himself near the front of the field before taking control of the race. Once in the lead, the Australian road racing veteran settled into a fast and consistent rhythm, managing the high-speed Daytona layout while keeping challengers behind him.

Behind Herfoss, teammate Rocco Landers delivered one of the most impressive rides of the race weekend. The young Californian piloted his Indian Challenger to a strong second-place finish, giving the team a dominant 1–2 finish and further highlighting the potential of the new Indian/Vance & Hines racing program.
Landers has quickly adapted to the unique demands of racing heavyweight baggers, and his Daytona performance signals that he will be a rider to watch as the season unfolds.

The results at Daytona represent an early statement from the Indian Motorcycle camp as the 2026 King of the Baggers championship gets underway. With multiple riders capable of fighting for wins, the team appears well positioned to challenge for both race victories and the overall title.
Daytona has historically been one of the most unpredictable circuits on the MotoAmerica calendar due to its high speeds, drafting battles, and demanding braking zones. Despite those challenges, Herfoss and Landers executed a clean race and maximized their performance when it mattered most.

KOTB Daytona Race 1 winner, Hayden Gillim, finished 9th on Saturday.
With the season now underway, the Indian Motorcycle x Vance & Hines squad leaves Daytona with momentum firmly on its side. If their Race 2 performance is any indication, the battle for the 2026 King of the Baggers championship is going to be intense—and Indian has already made it clear they intend to be at the front.
