Real Old School
Jason Walker was anxious for us to see his latest build and we are glad he sent us several pics of it. It’s an old boardtrack-style bike based around a modern H-D 80ci Evo engine. From tire to tire, the bike is outfitted with a myriad of unique custom and handmade parts such as the leaf spring frontend, air cleaner cover, copper hard lines, the seat mount, exhaust, and much more. We really dig the headlight most of all. Jason says he had a great time building the bike and that it’s a blast to ride.
The “Girly Bike”
Ron Limon, a.k.a. Plowboy, sent us this pic of his ’94 Softail Springer. Plowboy has put a lot of time and money into his ride installing nothing but top-of-the-line components. He beefed up the powertrain with a 107ci S&S; engine with Paul Yaffe X Pipes, swapped out the stock primary for a Rivera-Primo open primary, and then installed a JIMS six-speed trans. A set of Custom Cycle Controls apes keep the front of the bike nice and clean while a Progressive air ride at the rear allows Plowboy to air up or down as needed. He kept the paint subtle and inexpensive by dousing the sheetmetal with a couple cans of Krlyon Flat Black. Plowboy says he calls this his “Girly Bike” because it has trucker girls adorned all over it.
G-Luxe
Being in the Navy, Gentry “G” McGaha has traveled around quite extensively. And while his place of residence may have changed over the years, his love for Harleys has never changed. Gentry says he started out on a Sportster then moved to a Road Glide, and now owns this Deluxe he’s customized. He said he got rid of the RG because it was too comfy and he wanted to feel the road. He’s been working on his Deluxe for some time now slowly turning it into exactly what he wants. Gentry has added Samson 39-inch Fishtails, a LePera seat, a Legend air ride suspension system in the rear, 18-inch Burly bars, a high-flow air cleaner, a Screamin’ Eagle tuner, and many other chrome parts. Gentry’s next residence will be in Florida where he plans on taking advantage of the sunny Florida riding weather.
Runnin’ With the Devil
Hey HOT BIKE, I thought you’d like to check out my ride, it’s an ’07 Big Bear Chopper Devil’s Advocate. The bike has a 100ci S&S; engine, a Baker six-speed transmission, and a Vance & Hines exhaust. It has custom Fever Pitch wheels with a 21-inch front and a 18×10-inch rear with a 280 tire. I got the bike as a wreck but it ran and was rideable, just with a lot of cosmetic damage. I also stripped every nut and bolt on the bike and had the frame sandblasted and then I powdercoated it with a black pearl finish. I completely stripped down all the tins and started from scratch repairing them. Getting the tins back into shape and smooth again so they looked perfect was the most critical part of the whole job. We spray Martin Senour paint at our shop, so I went with its Planet Color line and chose Big Apple Candy Red with some Black Pearl Magic on the graphics and oil tank. I put about 7,000 miles on the bike this summer and rode it out to Sturgis and all around. I love the bike, it rides and handles awesome, and I will be taking it to Daytona Bike Week this coming spring. I even have a personalized license plate for it that reads “DEVL.”
