**Badass Buell**
John Coburn by way of Mesa, Arizona, had a ’96 Buell S1 Lightning sitting around and in a few short months it evolved into a Lucas Oil–sponsored Buell drag bike. The engine now has a fire-breathing NRHS 1250 kit on it and the shifting is provided by a Pingel air shift system. The swing arm is extended 10 1/2 inches. The swingarm, head work, and rear struts were built by Justin Collier at Action Chassis. The one-off rear fender was fabricated at Plastic Engineering and painted at AZ Automotive Finishes to match the vinyl wrap done on the tank, front fender, and body panels by Blue Media. The PM wheels front and back give it an upgraded look over stock. The exhaust is a race-ready Force Winder. To lower John’s riding position and get him out of the wind, custom-made clip-ons were used in place of stock mounted handlebars. The bike was put on the dyno and produced 96 hp. His best pass so far is 11.043 at 115 mph, but the bike has since undergone an engine rebuild and John’s ready to give ’em hell again all season long on the tarmac.

**Rideaway Bride**
Talie West, from Camden, New York, will soon be Talie Hanifin. She’s going to change her name when she gets back from her honeymoon in Jamaica this very summer. The photo she sent us has her in her wedding dress aboard her ’08 H-D Dyna Superglide custom. Talie’s father, Norm West, had been riding long before she was thought of. As a kid, she would ride with him, and within minutes, her helmet would be clinking the gas tank because she would fall asleep! Later Talie’s step-father, Frank Bergin, also loved to ride and that also helped. Frank talked Talie’s mother and her into learning to ride and the mother-and-daughter team took the safety course together as well. They even bought their bikes at the same time. Now that’s a true two-wheeled family affair.

**Badness**
Vince Pettijohn from Saint Joseph, Missouri, rolls this ’06 Wild West Gunfire. This sleek machine is powered by an S&S; 111i engine and shifts via a Jims six-speed transmission. Vince also added a mean-looking Bassani pipe and a tried-and-true Primo beltdrive. To add to the darkness, Vince powdercoated a mess of parts, including the fork legs, gloss black.

**Freedom Fighter**
Joeseph A. Myrda Jr., who is stationed at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, sent us a photo of him and his wife, Stephanie, along with their two-wheeled mistress, “Beauty,” on the outskirts of Nashville at the World-Famous Loveless Café. It was taken in February during Joe’s 15 days of R&R; leave from serving in Afghanistan’s Operation Enduring Freedom with the Army’s 101st “Screaming Eagle” Airborne Division, a.k.a. Air Assault, stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. As you can see, the 55-degree temperature at the café allowed Joe and Steph to take their choice of motorcycle parking spaces. Thank you for our freedom and get home safe Joe; Beauty misses you!
