Tech: FXR mid-controls

- Remove the Allen bolt completely so you can slide the lever off the splined shaft.

- Sometimes the frame bolts are on really tight, so we like to use a little air assist.

- Remove all four Allen 1/4 x 20 bolts.

- Wipe off the excess oil from the bottom lip.

- Spread some fresh gasket sealer around the O-ring nylon sleeve to ensure against leaks.

- Gently slide on the new cover, making sure not to damage the O-ring.

- Retorque the inspection cover bolts.

- Slide the rider peg back into place and torque down. You might need to install or remove the wave washer depending on your peg.

- Adjust the shifter lever to your desired position and tighten. If you have an aluminum lever, be careful not to overtighten and strip the threads.
