Installing 2025 Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST Saddlebags on a 2021 Low Rider S

For many Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST owners, one styling complaint has lingered since the bike’s introduction—the offset saddlebag setup.
The uneven sizing was originally designed to clear the factory shotgun dual exhaust used on the 2022–2024 Low Rider ST models. While that made sense from a packaging standpoint, most performance-minded riders quickly swapped the stock exhaust for a 2-into-1 system, leaving a noticeable gap and a mismatched saddlebag look.
Harley-Davidson quietly addressed this issue with the 2025 Low Rider ST, introducing equal-sized saddlebags that dramatically clean up the bike’s rear profile. When we spotted the updated bags on one of Heath Pinter’s Harley-Davidson invited builder bikes, it became clear this was the fix many earlier ST owners had been waiting for.
With help from Harley-Davidson and the crew at V-Twin Now, we sourced a complete set of 2025 FXLRST saddlebags (P/N 90202838DH) and installed them on a 2021 Low Rider S that had been running Sport Glide bags. The result? A much cleaner and more balanced look.
Here’s how the upgrade was done.

The Final Result: A Much Cleaner Rear Profile
With the 2025 Low Rider ST saddlebags installed, the uneven look disappears entirely.
The new bags deliver:
- Balanced styling
- Improved visual symmetry
- Proper spacing with aftermarket 2-into-1 exhaust systems
For riders who have already modified their M8 Softail with performance parts, this simple upgrade brings the bike’s styling in line with its performance upgrades.
Sometimes the best improvements are the ones that simply make everything look right.
And in this case, equal saddlebag sizing does exactly that.
