Checking Out The Race Of Gentlemen’s Pre-Party Chopper Show, NOTT
Night of the Troglodytes, also known as NOTT, is the The Race Of Gentlemen’s pre-party and chopper show. It’s an evening that brings a unique mix of choppers, most of them much newer than anything allowed on the beach. It’s a mix of psychedelic paint schemes, rust and chrome.
The event is small, and so it’s executed in a modest fashion. Hosted at Binns Motor Inn in Wildwood, New Jersey, the setting might seem surprising for a quality bike show. For the 2018 gathering, the event was forced to shut down the street in front of the hotel due to a larger-than-expected turnout. You didn’t get too much ’50s cosplay but, instead, a mix of real-deal choppers.
The whole shebang was hosted by Traditional Cycles who, after the event, posted, “The remnants of beer and motor oil have been washed into the gutters. The sounds of roaring bikes, loud music, and people’s laughter have subsided. The tribes who ruled this place for a weekend have migrated back to where they came from. They congregated for one night to trade stories, share drink, and celebrate one common bond: choppers. Say what you will about us, but until you are a true part of this you won’t understand. Night of the Troglodytes is not just a show and party. We are a family bonded by steel, bondo, oil, and gasoline.”
