Kuryakyn Set to Sponsor NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Team
One of the things we’re darn proud of here at Kuryakyn is just how synonymous our brand has become with the V-Twin aftermarket. With that in mind, it’s our pleasure to announce we’re teaming up with crew chief Harry Lartigue and rider Chip Ellis to sponsor a ride in the 2011 version of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series.
If you’re not familiar with him, Chip Ellis is a six-time national event winner and former NHRA record holder. In the last two seasons, he has competed at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals aboard a Vance & Hines entry, and in 2011 will ride a Lartigue Racing Buell V-Twin. Vance & Hines, whose engines have powered Lartigue’s bikes for more than 20 years, will provide engine development and support.
Throughout his career, Harry Lartigue has been instrumental in the development of up and coming riders, including Michael Phillips, Indy winner Reggie Showers, and Peggy Llewellyn. Given the fact that Chip Ellis knows the Buell V-Twin like the back of his hand, we’re confident he’ll have a very competitive 2011 season.
The new team plans to compete at all 16 Pro Stock Motorcycle events on the NHRA Full Throttle tour beginning with the Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals, March 10-13 in Gainesville, Fla.
