2006 Harley-Davidson Screamin Eagle Fat Boy And More – Reader’s Showcase
We would like to start by asking you, the reader, to help us with your ride submissions. There is no shortage of Readers’ Rides coming across the editor’s desks; however, only about 1/4 of them can be used. The reason: bad photos, little or no info about the bike, and even worse, no contact info to get better photos or the needed bike specs.
So before you put a stamp on that envelope or send out that e-mail, make sure that you have filled out the basics: Your name, phone number and/or e-mail, where you’re from. Then fill out a spec sheet-all you need to do is copy the info from the magazine: Motor, tran, frame, wheels, and so on. Last, a brief history about you and your bike. Now that you know exactly what we’re looking for, we can’t wait to see what you’re going to send in. Thanks!
Screamin’ Eagle Fat Boy
Ron Smith of Carlisle, PA, has been a car and bike collector for over 10 years. Always adding to his collection, he started to move closer to the bike side of things and he recently got his hands on this ’06 H-D Screamin’ Eagle Fat Boy, #25 of 3,000. With this bike he is on his way to filling his garage. At least he can ride his collection.

Lusty Lady
After owning a lot of bikes and not knowing just what he wanted, Frederick Gartner fell in lust with this ’87 FXR. He had been on a lot of different bikes with as many miles in the seat, but never felt that he’d found the right bike for him until he got his hands on this one. After riding the bike just once, he knew he’d found it. He loved the loud pipes, tall bars, chrome, and the cool paint job.

Love At First SightPaul Spignese bought this bike in the summer of ’04 after hearing from a friend that his local bike shop had just gotten a clean trade-in. The two went down to the shop, and once he saw it, he bought it! He did not even give the shop a chance to clean the bike up; he told them to give him a good deal and he would do it himself. Paul knew he was going to pull things off to dip in the chrome bath to clean up this bike on his own. He tells us he has not been off the bike since he got it, so he may also need a bath by now…

Don’t Need A BaggerSkip Hochreich is not too different from most Harley owners: He’s had a few of them over the years, and at the age of 63 he felt that his riding might be different, but he is not looking to get into the bagger world until he gets really old. So for now he plans to keep riding what he calls “bikes with style.” Skip found this ’94 Fat Boy and spent a lot of time cleaning, chroming, and painting to get it this far: 50,000 miles, 10 trophies, and a place in HOT BIKE magazine.
