Hot Bike in the 1990s | Gallery
Hot Bike had dropped the Street Chopper name before 1990 rolled around, and Buck Lovell signed on as one of the editors. It was at this time where most builders had an “anything goes” attitude toward building bikes, and Hot Bike was right there with them. Editors Bob Clark, Paul Garson, and Steve Stilwell were still deeply into the performance and racing scene, and every issue had some sort of racing or performance feature within it. V-twin-bike-only policy was adopted, and old H-D motors in new frames were the style du jour. In May of 1995 a design change gave the brand a new logo on the cover, and the end of the ’90s saw Howard Kelly firmly in place as Hot Bike’s editor.
