The Hot Seat | 11 Questions With Todd Silicato
Describe yourself in three words.
Detailed, simple, humble
Why the motorcycle industry?
They are fast and fun and have always been a part of my life. And they take up less space than cars.
What do you see in the industry’s crystal ball?
Technology has taken over. More computer-controlled components and fewer hammers.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
_Still working on the greatest, but as of today I’d say my family and my business. _
Favorite all-time motorcycle?
_I don’t have a favorite. I appreciate the details and certain aspects of many motorcycles. They all have certain qualities that just can’t be put into one bike. _
Who inspires you?
Randy Renfrow, road racer, as a racer, businessman, and friend.
What’s your biggest regret?
Not having the confidence to start my own business earlier in life.
What is your proudest moment?
_Racing motocross in Anaheim and at the Los Angeles Coliseum when I was a kid. _
Favorite place on Earth?
Wherever I am when great things happen.
Biggest pet peeve?
_I’m never satisfied; I’m a perfectionist in my own mind. There’s always one more thing that needs to be done. _
**What are you currently working on? **
_I’m working on releasing stainless steel fork caps for 39mm, 41mm, and 49mm fork tubes. They’re pretty much ready to go and will be available in machined, polished, charcoal black, and a brass/gold-type finish. _
